An important stage in the marketing process is to ensure that prospects are able and willing to receive direct marketing communications. This is achieved by cross checking prospect data with relevant suppression files, including:
AMS Gone-away Suppression File.
This file is our most comprehensive suppression file currently available. It contains individuals who have moved location since 200 and currently consists of over 5.6 million records. The database is collated by collecting both negative data (move outs) and positive data (move ins).
By matching both data sets and ensuring that different surnames appear, a verification of a move is made. The file has been independently tested and has proven to be 99% accurate.
AMS Mover Tracker (MT)
MT is sourced from the mail order, utility, banking and subscriber information. It provides not only the facility to identify that an individual has moved but also provides details of where that individual has moved to. This file can be used either as a suppression file or as a file to enhance existing data ie. to locate ‘lost’ customers.
AMS Bereavement Suppressing
This file represents the most detailed compilation of individuals who have died with a registered estate valued in excess of £5,000. The data is commercially compiled by Smee & Ford, the Will consultants, from probate registry records for England & Wales (1989 onwards) and Scotland (1996 onwards).
Preference Service Files
Although not a legal requirement, the MPS enables you to meet the DMA’s best practice guidelines to identify and suppress the addresses of individuals who have registered their desire not to receive unsolicited mail.
Business Suppression Files
Supported by the DMA, the Business Suppression File is derived from recognised, audited sources of business to business data. Sources include, Companies House data, and gone-away’s identified by a range of the UK’s top mailers. Contact data is held at individual and company levels and incorporates businesses which have ceased trading and Directors who have resigned, in addition to postal returns. Backed by a consortium of well known industry professionals, the BSF provides the UK’s most comprehensive file of business gone-away data.
